Keep students connected with up to date account details

It also helps students maintain access to their USI, including their authenticated VET transcript, when they need them.

Outdated personal or contact details are a common reason students have difficulty finding or accessing their USI account. This can affect their ability to find their USI, impacting how they then enrol in further study, provide evidence of previous training, or support credit transfers and recognition of prior learning. At the time of enrolment, this has an administrative burden for your staff, can be stressful to students and potentially lead to problems with duplicate USI accounts.

How you can help

There are simple ways you can encourage students to keep their USI account details up to date. 
If your students use an online application to manage their personal details for the education or training you provide, consider including a reminder for them to also update these details in their USI account. 

If your staff are assisting students to update their details with your organisation, please remind them to also update their details on their USI account as well.

You can also encourage students to:

• keep their personal and contact details up to date via self-service in the USI Student Portal 
• ensure they can access the email address and mobile number linked to their USI account
• update their details promptly when circumstances change, including when they change their name (also via self-service in the USI Student Portal).
