USI Transcript Service Activation – Update
Further to the previous Bulletin we can confirm that the Closed Trial will be held from 2- 8 December 2016, when a selected group of RTOs and student volunteers will have the opportunity to trial the USI Transcript Service and the Update Tool for the first time. Their feedback and suggestions will help confirm that the system is ready to proceed to Open Trials on the path to formal activation.
During the Closed Trial, students will be able to view their transcripts online and download it in full or partially. Students will also be able to give permission to RTOs to view their transcript by giving access through their USI accounts. If granted permission by students RTOs will also be able view the training records online. RTOs will be able to edit, add or delete training records using the USI Transcript Update Tool to correct errors in their 2015 AVETMISS submissions.
Subject to success with the Closed Trial, an Open Trial is scheduled from 9 to 22 December 2016. ONLY students who completed a nationally recognised qualification in 2015 will be able to participate in the Open Trial and provide feedback. If these students notice any errors in their transcript we will be contacting the relevant RTO to seek an update.
RTOs will be advised of the timing for a formal launch of the Transcript Service subject to a satisfactory outcome of trial activation of the USI Transcript Service.
Should you have any questions regarding the USI Transcript Service trial activation please contact us at USITranscriptTrial@education.gov.au.
The USI Transcript Service Update Tool
The USI Transcript Update Tool will be accessible to RTOs when the Open Trial commences via the AVETMISS Validation Software (AVS). RTOs who submit AVETMISS data directly to NCVER will already be registered to use AVS. Those submitting via State Training Authorities may not be registered and they will need to be registered to be able to use the Update Tool.
Over the coming months, RTOs are encouraged to register for AVS if necessary and familiarise themselves with the USI Transcript Update Tool.
A webinar providing more information on the USI Transcript Update Tool will be held on Tuesday 6 December 2016. Details regarding registration are provided below.
