We are building a better USI website
The USI Office has been working behind the scenes to improve website usability. We want to thank you for your feedback on the alpha test site. The development of the website has been, and will continue to be collaborative. We are about to launch the new Beta website which will run in conjunction with our current website. So please get involved and tell us what you think.
The enhanced features will look slightly different but all the information you need to create a USI, maintain and view your USI information will be there.
How do I get there?
Access the Beta site by simply visiting www.usi.gov.au where you will see a blue button at the top of the home page. This will take you to the Beta website – don’t worry, you can easily go back to the current USI website from this Beta site by clicking the return to usi.gov.au at the top of the Beta home page. There will also be a link from the Registry system to the Beta site, for ease of use.
How do I get involved and give feedback?
Our aim is to provide our stakeholders with the best possible online self-service experience. So, during the roll out of the Beta website, if you experience any usability issues, or simply want to give us feedback, please submit your feedback using the button located on the left hand side of every page. Also, take this opportunity to encourage your students to use the Beta site as their feedback will inform continued improvements.
Why introduce a USI Beta website?
The first stage of building a new website is the Beta stage. This gives us the opportunity to get your feedback on new designs and content so we can make it better before it becomes the new USI website.
Our Beta website is simply a new and improved version of our existing website. The current USI website has more than 700 web pages. The new Beta site has been streamlined with much fewer pages, consolidating key content and simplified navigation based on analysis of usage patterns and user centred research. So, the USI Beta website gives us a place to deliver (and, importantly, test) our new designs and solutions with live content in a planned and staged approach.
We are using this staged approach to analyse, restructure, consolidate, rewrite, design and keep building the new USI website. We encourage you to get involved and provide your feedback so we can take it on board to continually improve the quality of the USI online services and make access easier for all users.
