Does USI collect data?
The USI application process requires personal information, including:
- your name
- date and place of birth
- gender
- contact details
- a form of identification.
This information is to confirm your identity and ensure your USI is unique.
Your information may be disclosed for the purposes set out in our terms and conditions.
The USI Registry System keeps information about your name, date and place of birth, gender, contact details and the type of identification provided.
The USI Registry System does not retain details from the ID used to create your USI.

How is training data collected?
USI VET transcripts include training data released by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER).
The pathway is:
- The training organisation reports their training data to their State Training Authority
- The State Training Authority reports all data for their State/Territory to NCVER
- NCVER collect all training data Australia-wide.

What information is stored on the VET transcript?
As students complete training, their VET transcript is updated to provide a record that shows all their nationally recognised training.
Any training completed before 1 January 2015 will not be shown in the VET transcript.
