If you do not have the required form of ID to create your USI, your training provider can help you to create your USI. You will need to take a document that identifies you in some way.

You are asked to enter details as they appear on your ID when creating a USI or making some changes to your USI account. The USI Registry System connects with the Australian Government’s Document Verification Service and your ID will be checked and verified against databases such as Births, Deaths and Marriages, Motor Registry etc.

If your ID has expired or been cancelled you are unable to use the Document Verification System for that particular document. Please use another current form of ID. If you have no other forms of ID please contact your training organisation.

Please check that your ID is current and the details have been entered exactly as they appear on your ID — including your middle name if it is included. If you have tried to use the same ID three times you will be asked to use another, or you can wait 20 minutes and then try again.

The USI Registry System relies on multiple databases held by Australian federal and state government. At times, these systems may be temporarily unavailable due to technical issues. You can try again later or try a different form of ID.

You can try the one form of ID three times before the system will ask you to try another form of ID. You can continue trying each form of ID three times each.
